Service Description
Glassblowers LOVE making cups. Trust us. We all have a whole range of lovely, unique and slightly wonky cups in our cupboard. We love them all! This class focuses on blowing glass and creating tumblers with the blowpipe. The degree of difficulty of this class is slightly higher, so if you haven't done any glassblowing before we recommend trying our Hot Glass Experience class first. However, if you are keen to dive right into cups we're more than happy to welcome you into the class. This class is all about tumbler making. Each student will be given an opportunity to make a tumbler in clear and colour. You'll be guided every step of the way from gathering glass from the furnace, blowing a bubble into the molten glass, shaping the cup, transferring it to a punty iron, then opening it up! All tools and materials will be provided by the studio, just bring a snack and water bottle and come ready to learn and have fun. Class sizes are limited to six to ensure a safe and attentive atmosphere and participants are welcome from ages 14+(accompanied by an adult). Please note: Your glass pieces will need to slowly cool for 12-14 hrs after the class, so the price includes carefully packing and shipping your pieces (within Australia) the following week. ------ "It was an awesome experience, had such a great time and it was fun to make 2 items in the class. Cancellation Policy
BEFORE CLASS: Students must arrive 5-10 minutes prior to class start time to sign a safety waiver and get acquainted with the studio. Bring a water bottle and a snack, come ready to learn! Closed toed shoes must be worn in the workshop. No loose or flowing clothing - cotton or natural fibres are a must. Please try to avoid leggings or synthetic fibres. Long hair should be tied back. The studio will provide safety glasses for glassblowing and flameworking. Students under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult or guardian. CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULING, REFUNDS: Hothaus studio reserves the right to deny participation and not issue a refund if you arrive in improper attire, more than 30 minutes late, or appear ‘under the influence’ of drugs/alcohol. Please do your best to honor your booking – Cancellations will receive full refund up to 2 weeks before class time. Within a week of class we can offer 50% refund up to 72 hrs before class. No refunds available for cancellations less than 72 hrs from class time. If the class minimum number of participants is not met 48 hours before it is due to start, we will contact you to reschedule your class.
